History
In the late 1970s the company EnerChem AB was founded by personnel from Lund Institute of Technology. At that time, BioMil had four areas of expertise: biogas production, thermal gasification, flue gas purification and liming. 1979/80 BioMil engineered and built one of Swedens first farm-based biogas plants. The plant was built just outside Marieholm in Skåne. Another plant was built in 1982 outside Kalmar.
During the 80s and 90s several R&D projects were carried out within the biogas field, including biogas production from straw, algae, horse manure and digestion of sorted municipal waste i a 2-stage pilot plant.
Other activities concerning biogas were prestudies and design of agricultural, municipal and industrial biogas plants, as well as environmental impact assessments. These are still our main fields of activity.
In 1986, Sydkraft became a partial stack holder in the company, and in the early 1990ies, EnerChem completely became a subsidiary enterprise of Sydkraft Konsult AB.
In 1997, Sydkrafts interest for biogas decreased, and EnerChem was liquidated. In this situation, Marita Linné, Anders Dahl and Lars Andersson took over and started BioMil AB, continuing working with biogas and leading to more than 30 years of biogas experience today. Now, we are an expanding consultancy company which continuously is following the most recent development in order to offer the most up-to-date know how to our biogas customers.
